Meanwhile, despite Cosette's questioning, Valjean refuses to tell her about his past or her mother.
Theme:
The theme is based on the stage musical began in the late 1980's.Its purpose is for us to know what life was about during French Revolution.
Symbolism:
Les Miserables is a film about class, that early “Look down” being both how convicts must comport themselves and how polite society views them. That’s what Javert stands for, the belief that people don’t change and there’s always ‘Us’ and ‘Them’ – unlike the revolution, which stands for equality. and it’s obviously a worthy message but has more to do with forgiveness and charity.
What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
Les Miserable was all about the war and the people's way of living.About the poor wretches that are being treated in the other way around. And as a person as a whole that has a leaderships to govern its nation and the society were they lived.
Among the characters, to whom can you relate to?
The character of Fantine because she worked hard to support her daughter even a job of being a prostitute, she did it for the sake of money. Its here only way to show her love because her daughter is away from her and it makes her crazy every time she reminds of being far to her child.
Which part of the presentation struck you the most?
When Valjean has a chance to kill Javert but instead he give him a chance to escape. His role in life is to help people not, by killing them even though Javert is his enemy.
What is the movies message?
It show a relationship between the people and the person who has the highest authority to rule a nation. That even though your an ordinary people you belong to that nation and you have dignity and to fight whats right.
Did I like this in General? Why?
Yes I like it because we can relate this in our lives about how we serve as a leader to every one that has a courage to do things right.
Did I agree with the main theme/ purpose? Why or why not?
What specifically did I like/ dislike? Why?
I don't like the scene where the two swindling innkeepers are getting things from their guest every time they will go to their house and the foods they offered are coming from rats and other animals they simply ground it like a ground pork.
Are there any aspects of theme which are left ambiguous at the end? Why?
The part that Cosett and Marius where about to get married but Valjean was not their.and Cosett find a way to look for him. She found him almost dying. I like it because it shows how she love Valjean that she treat like his own father and Valjean said that your mother is happy right that you have the life that she cant gave it when shes alive .
